The Thermal Small Arms Collimator (TiSAC) allows soldiers to remove and remount thermal weapon sights- and then confirm zero and/or re-zero weapons to a high level of accuracy- without live fire. They function in essentially the same way as the standard SAC, with the same level of accuracy and repeatability (1 MOA).
The TiSAC uses a metallic reticle/ grid that is heated or cooled to make it visible to thermal sights. To operate the TiSAC, the user simply presses and holds a rubberized button for a few seconds- this makes the grid visible for about sixty seconds. TiSACs do require one AA battery for operation; each one is good for approximately 700 uses. To switch between white hot and black hot, the user simply removes and reverses the battery.
Thermal Small Arms Collimators work with any mil spec thermal sight. TiSACs are available for assault rifles, submachine guns, machine guns, sniper systems, and grenade launchers.
Accurate: Sub-MOA accuracy.
Repeatable: any collimator can be used on any like weapon system with the same results (better than 1 MOA).
Passive: does not emit light or any other visible signature and does not require a down-range target.
Simple: easy to use with very little training. No “master weapon” is needed.
Proven: SACs have been in use for more than a decade by British and other military forces with outstanding results.
